Kayla Sousa holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & English from UTM and a Master’s of Education in Counselling & Psychotherapy from OISE/UT.  While pursuing her graduate degree, she interned in the personal counselling centre at York University and later worked in the field of psychometrics where she gained an understanding of the mental health challenges facing individuals, particularly youth.

Since 2011, Kayla has worked at UTM serving in frontline capacities, supporting students as a Career Counsellor, and collaborating with faculty and staff as an Experiential Learning Officer.  In all roles, she has enjoyed collaborating with colleagues and she is excited to contribute positively as a representative for administrative staff on Campus Council.
