The Office of Appeals, Discipline and Faculty Grievances
The Office of Appeals, Discipline and Faculty Grievances (ADFG) is neutral, and is responsible for the management of the administration of the Governing Council’s quasi-judicial processes and functions, by providing governance, judicial and registrarial support for these bodies and associated processes.
There are currently 15 quasi-judicial processes our Office supports, and our role differs for each process. These quasi-judicial processes span all three campuses at the University.
The ADFG office is located in THe McMurrich Building at 12 Queen's Park Crescent West.
hours of operation
September to June: 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
July to August: 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Please note that the ADFG Office is closed for Statutory, Civic, and University holidays.
If you wish to meet with someone in the ADFG office, or make any deliveries, please email our office at adfg.admin@utoronto.ca before visiting, as the office is located in a secured suite.

Please note that changes to the academic appeals process, through the creation of Rules of Practice and Procedure (Rules), will take effect on July 1, 2025, which falls on a statutory holiday. As a result, the updated information and resources will be posted on the website on July 2, 2025, including the Rules, as well as the Academic Appeals Committee’s revised Terms of Reference.
