HOLIDAY CLOSURE - SERVICE IMPACT
The Office of Convocation will be closed for the Seasonal Holidays from December 21, 2023 to January 3, 2024. The last day to submit a Diploma Replacement request to ensure processing before this closure is December 14, 2023 at 4:30 p.m.
Anything ordered after this date until the office closes on December 20 will be processed in January.
If you are sending paperwork to our office during this closure, we recommend sending via regular postal service (eg. Canada Post).
Make sure your diploma replacement request includes all of the following:
- a completed Replacement Diploma and Delivery order form with an original signature
- your original diploma
- the appropriate fee(s) in the form of a Money Order, Bank Draft or Certified Cheque
Please Note: requests which are incomplete will be returned via Canada Post regular mail.
Cost: $150.00 CAD/each diploma - includes delivery via courier
Please note that we can only accept cash, money order, bank draft, or certified cheque (not personal). Funds must be in Canadian Dollars and made payable to the University of Toronto.
In order to obtain a Replacement Diploma printed with a different name, you must first have your name officially changed in the University of Toronto records. Please follow the steps outlined below:
Contact your College or Faculty Registrar and complete a Change or Correction of Name form. This form must be accompanied by one of the following supporting documents:
- Birth certificate
- Baptismal certificate
- Marriage certificate
- Legal Name Change document issued by the Government
- If you are submitting your name change request by mail, a certified copy of one of the above-mentioned documents must accompany the form.
- If your supporting documentation is in a foreign language, you must provide an official translation.
Once your name has been changed in the records you can then request a Replacement Diploma. Your original diploma must be returned along with your request.
Please complete the Replacement Diploma and Delivery form in its entirety before submitting to the Office of Convocation (NOTE: if you do not know your student number, you must provide a date of birth). Please note that faxed or otherwise electronically signed or sent copies of the request form will not be accepted. Your original signature (in ink) must appear on this form. This form must be received with your payment.

All Replacement Diplomas are delivered by courier. This cost is included in the replacement fee.
If you are replacing more than one diploma, you will need to complete one order form per diploma.
The typical processing time for a Replacement Diploma is approximately 4 weeks upon receipt of documentation and payment. During peak Convocation seasons, please allow 6-8 weeks for a Replacement Diploma to be processed. Peak Convocation seasons are early-May until the end of June and mid-October until the end of November.
Outstanding Fees/Financial Hold: must be cleared before replacement diplomas are processed. Please contact your registrar for information regarding your fees/hold
