Anisa Persaud

I am a second year student double-majoring in Political Science and English, minoring in Public Law. As a member of UTSC's Campus Council, I will prioritize students and maximize their benefits through campus plans and opportunities. As an undergraduate student myself, I am familiar with the priorities of students at the Scarborough campus. Faith Opoku Agyemang

As a proud Black woman in my third year at UTSC, I am committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and equitable campus community. With a background in sociology, public law and gendered studies, I bring a strong understanding of systemic issues and a passion for advocating for marginalized voices. My experience navigating university spaces as a racialized student equips me to represent diverse perspectives and push for meaningful change. If elected, I will prioritize mental health resources, equitable opportunities, and spaces for dialogue that reflect the diversity of our campus to promote a more thriving UTSC community.

Folakunmi Awofisayo

I am Folakunmi Awofisayo. I am passionate about fostering collaboration and inclusivity within our campus community. My strong organizational skills, leadership experience, and commitment to service make me a strong candidate for the UTSC Campus Council. I aim to advocate for student interests, promote academic and extracurricular opportunities, and ensure transparent communication between students and council members. By serving on the council, I hope to contribute to initiatives that enhance student experiences and create a supportive environment for personal and academic growth.

Hiba Kourani

As a representative of international first-year students, I offer a unique perspective on discrepancies between university promises and the reality of campus facilities. I believe improving services, facilities, and management will enhance first-year performance, strengthening the university's reputation. Serving as liaison between students and administration in high school, I developed strong communication and leadership skills. My first days in Canada were challenging, leaving a lasting impact on me. I learned resilience and perseverance, which fueled my commitment to excellence, inclusion, and inspiring others. I aim to bridge the gap between students and administration, bringing real experiences to the decision-making table.

Inaaya Imran

Hi! I’m Inaaya Imran, a first-year student at UTSC, and I’m running to be your voice on campus. Many students struggle with long wait times for academic/financial aid or can’t find the mental health support they need when things get tough. Others face financial barriers with expensive textbooks or feel isolated without a strong peer network. I want to push for better access to resources, more inclusive events, and a campus where every student feels supported. Let’s work together to make UTSC a place where we can all thrive. Vote for change, vote for progress!

Ismail Bashir Ahmed

I am running for the UTSC Governing Council because I believe our campus needs bold, unfiltered leadership that challenges the status quo. As a student, I have seen the impact of underrepresentation and decisions that prioritize bureaucracy over student well-being. It’s time for a change. I am not afraid to ask tough questions, question outdated policies, and stand up against practices that don’t serve the best interests of the student body.

Marianna Mikalian

I am an undergraduate student at UTSC and I am eager to be involved on campus while incorporating the voice of my peers. With my major of political science, I have the knowledge necessary to fulfill this role. I value diversity and equality for UTSC and strive to fulfill activism on campus. Every voice counts and so does your vote.

UofT is full of opportunities, yet outdated systems and inefficiencies prevent students from thriving. As a 4th-year undergrad, I’ve experienced the frustration of inaccessible resources, slow processes, and a lack of transparency. I believe every student deserves a campus where life is easier, support is stronger, and opportunities are within reach. My focus is simple: modernize services to improve campus navigation, enhance access to affordable resources, and create spaces that foster community and innovation. I don’t just identify problems—I deliver solutions. Together, we’ll align UTSC’s priorities with the needs of its students, ensuring a future that works for everyone. https://www.instagram.com/voteforrishi/

Shennel Simpson

UTSC, we are so back! My name is Shennel, and I'm a third-year undergrad student. I'm double majoring in population health and human biology with a minor in psychology. For the past three years, I've had the honor and privilege of working alongside a multitude of talented, innovative, and high achieving students (like you!) in various extra and co-curricular involvement opportunities on campus. You deserve to thrive and prosper on a campus that acknowledges your academic, social, and emotional needs, while equipping you with the skills and tools needed to thrive beyond post secondary. I hope to provide that!

Sukaina Abbas

Additionally, my internships at Mirza Law Company and volunteer work with Science Fuse have sharpened my skills in research, collaboration, and strategic planning. These experiences, combined with my dedication to student and campus development, position me to contribute meaningfully to the UTSC Campus Council’s efforts in resource management, short- and long-term planning, and achieving campus objectives.

Yuzune Naruse

Hello, everyone. As a dedicated student with a passion for fostering positive changes, I’ll commit to enhancing your experiences, especially student wellness and campus resource accessibility. In my previous role as Student Government President at a college in New York, I led initiatives that significantly boosted student engagement and successfully advocated for a $97 million increase in the state’s annual budget allocation to colleges. Your voice and experiences matter. With your support, I will bring my skills and dedication to advocate for your needs and create an environment and opportunities for growth and success for all at UTSC.
