Anil Wasif is a policy researcher and practitioner with comprehensive experience in government and non-profit sectors. He is deeply involved in his community, serving on non-profit and university boards. His work is inter-disciplinary, with a preference for economic policy. Anil manages research at Infrastructure Ontario, a Crown corporation in Ontario, Canada. The team publishes insights to inform decisions on Ontario's multi-billion-dollar capital plan. Recently, the focus has been on infrastructure pipeline optimization, procurement innovation, and asset value creation. Previously, Anil held successive roles in the Ontario Public Service, notably as a Senior Economist at the Office of the Budget and as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Associate Deputy Minister of ServiceOntario. His experience also includes roles in consultancy and service design.

Anil holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from McGill University and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto. He has contributed data analysis for multiple editions of 'Economics' by Christopher Ragan, a widely-used introductory textbook in Canadian universities. Anil also occasionally writes about socio-economic issues in policy columns and enjoys visualizing complex issues to engage a broad audience on public matters. He serves on the Advisory Board for the Max Bell School of Public Policy at McGill University. As a board member, he contributes to the institution's curriculum, student experience and research endeavours. He is passionate about advancing experiential learning, skills development, and career pathways to public service at the University. Anil has also served as a Senior Fellow at Bangladeshi Canadian Community Services. Anil is a co-founder of BL (BacharLorai), a non-profit dedicated to empowering Bangladeshis worldwide. As a Trustee, he advises the Board on resourcing, risk management, and ethics. As Director of Strategy, he manages the executive team, liaisons with public sector bodies and guides program implementation.
