Governing Council Teaching Staff Seats in the 2023 Election

The Act stipulates that twelve members of the Governing Council shall be elected by the Teaching Staff from among the Teaching Staff.

Of those twelve seats, 3 will be available in the upcoming 2023 election.

The term of office for a Teaching Staff member of the Governing Council begins on July 1st in the year in which the member is elected and ends 3 years later on June 30th.

Nominations will be accepted for 3 Teaching Staff between Monday, January 9, 2023 starting 12:00 P.M. and Thursday, January 19, 2023 by 5:00 P.M.

The following constituencies will be eligible to run:

  • Constituency II: All Teaching Staff who hold their major appointments at the University of Toronto Mississauga
    • One (1) Seat
    • Term: July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026
  • Constituency VII: All Teaching Staff members who hold their major appointments in the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, Faculty of Information, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Music and the FactorInwentash Faculty of Social Work
    • One (1) Seat
    • Term: July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026
  • Constituency VIII: All Teaching Staff members who hold their major appointments in the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto (OISE)
    • One (1) Seat
    • Term: July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026
