Student charged with seven offences under s. B.i.3(a) of the Code. The charges related to allegations that the Student, in application for employment at five law firms, reported falsified marks in three courses, and provided falsified photocopies of his examination booklets to two of the law firms, reflecting the falsified marks reported. The Student did not attend the hearing. The Panel considered the evidence of the Secretary of the University Tribunal, and found that the Student had received adequate notice of the hearing. The University submitted an Agreed Statement of Facts signed by the Student, in which the Student acknowledged his guilty plea to the charges. The Panel considered the Agreed Statement of Facts and accepted the Student’s guilty plea. The University submitted a Joint Submission with Respect to Sanction signed by the Student. The Panel found that the acts constituted an extremely serious offense; that the message must be sent to students and to the public that the University was an institution of high standards which expected honesty from its students; and that employers must be able to rely on the representations made by University students and graduates. The Panel imposed a five year suspension; a five-year notation on the Student’s academic record and transcript; and that a report be issued to the Provost.
