Dr. Angela Pyle is an Associate Professor at the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. She has served as Director of the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study and Chair of the EdD and MA programs in Child Study and Education. Professor Pyle’s research focusses on child development and early primary education, with a specific interest in children’s literacy development and the benefits of play to children’s learning and development. Dr. Pyle is the recipient of the American Educational Research Association Early Education and Child Development Early Career Research Award and the OISE Award for Excellence in Initial Teacher Education.
