Shennel Simpson (she/her) is a fifth-year undergraduate student, double majoring in population health and human biology and minoring in psychology. With strong interests in health equity, youth engagement, and youth job insecurity, she is committed to ensuring that every student at UTSC works, learns, and exists in a space that is conducive to their development. She has served as one of the Undergraduate Representatives for UTSC's Campus Council since her second year, and has rotated between serving on the Campus Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Agenda Committees. She contributes to campus life and student engagement through her Undergraduate Representative roles on UTSC's Working Circle, EDI BioSci Committee, and Undergraduate Psychology EDI Committee. You can always find her volunteering at events and conducting outreach initiatives via tabling. Shennel also works at BGC East Scarborough and with the Black Health Equity Lab as a Research Assistant. Outside of school, she volunteers with UNICEF Canada, CAMH, Black Donors Save Lives, Canadian Black Scientists Network, and Ase Community Foundation for Black Canadians with Disabilities.
