Salvatore (Sal) Spadafora is the Special Advisor to the University of Toronto President on COVID-19 & Senior Advisor to the Dean Temerty Faculty of Medicine. He is a Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, and an anesthesiologist at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Professor Spadafora has distinguished himself as a leader in medical education and is the recipient of numerous education awards and is highly respected by health care educators and scholars nationally for his high scholarly and ethical standards, exceptional capacity for work, consensus building and common-sense approaches to solving difficult problems. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (Anesthesiology).

Professor Spadafora studied at Bishop’s University before earning his MD from the University of Toronto, Anesthesiology Royal College training at Western University and Masters of Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
