Ms. Anderson graduated from the University of Toronto Mississauga (Erindale College) in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, Industrial Relations, and Professional Writing. In 1999, she graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Laws degree and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2001. Ms. Anderson served on the Board of Directors of the University of Toronto Mississauga Alumni Association (UTMAA), between 1999-2007, and served as its President from 2005-2007. During her term as President of the UTMAA, she contributed to the creation of an organizational chart and job descriptions of executive positions on the UTMAA Board. As President of the UTMAA and as President of the Board of Directors for the Peel Addiction and Referral Centre (PAARC) (1999-2014), she worked with Board members on succession planning, executive compensation, and financial, human resources, legal and real estate matters beyond the operational mandates of the organization's executives.

Ms. Anderson runs her own practice in Mississauga, Ontario. Her practice focuses on Canadian immigration and citizenship law. She is also a member of the Law Society of Ontario and its Coach and Advisor Network (CAN). She is also a proud to sponsor the American Women's Club of Southern Ontario (AWCO).  On International Women's Day 2023, Ms. Anderson was sworn in a a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court for the Central West Region of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.  Ms. Anderson is serving her first three-year term on Campus Council, starting on July 1, 2022.
