
Ehab James
Ehab James is a dedicated community leader and public servant, currently serving his second consecutive term as an elected Governing Member of the University of Toronto. He is a recipient of the University of Toronto Student Leadership Award (UTSLA) and has been recognized for his extensive community involvement, contributing thousands of volunteer hours to grassroots and institutional initiatives. Ehab’s public service experience spans municipal, provincial, and federal levels, including roles with the City of Mississauga, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, and the House of Commons of Canada. In his current role, he is actively involved in key initiatives such as advocating for the university community’s needs with local governments and contributing to the development of the next Academic Plan for the University of Toronto Mississauga. Among his community achievements, Ehab played a key role in the creation of MiWay’s Route 126, improving transit access for thousands of UTM community members and local residents. He is passionate about building bridges between government, academia, and community, working to ensure that decision-making spaces are accessible, accountable, and responsive to those they serve.
