The Meeting was held in Closed Session      


  1. Chair’s Remarks

    The Vice-Chair welcomed members of the Committee. He advised that the Chair was unavoidably absent and that he would be chairing the meeting in his absence.  He advised members that as one academic administrative appointment pertained to his own appointment, he would recuse himself as Chair for consideration of the item, for which the Committee would appoint a char per tempore.  He nominated Ernest Lam, Chair of the Committee on Academic Policy and Programs to serve as chair per tempore. The Committee voted in favour of this appointment. 
     
  2. Review of Academic Programs and Units – Part 2
    1. Semi-Annual Report on the review of Academic Units and Programs, October 2021 – April 2022

Professor Susan McCahan, Vice-Provost, Academic Programs and Innovations in Undergraduate Education introduced the item, noting that the report included five external reviews (one Provostial and four Decanal).  

Professor Ernest Lam, Chair of the Committee on Academic Policy and Programs (“AP&P),  reported on the Committee’s discussion of the reviews at its April 12, 2022 meeting.  A summary of the discussion was contained in the AP&P report.  The Committee found generally that each of the review summaries accurately reflected the overall reviews and that the administrative responses adequately addressed issues identified in the reports. There were no follow-up reports requested by the Committee.

  1. Academic Board – Review and Approval of Agenda –April 27, 2022

    The Committee reviewed and approved the (draft) agenda for the Academic Board meeting scheduled for April 27, 2022.
     
  2. Approval of the Reports of the Previous Meetings

    Report 284 from the meeting of March 2, 2022, and Report 285 from the special meeting held April 6, 2022 were approved. 
     
  3. Business Arising from the Report of the Previous Meeting

    There was no business arising from the Report of the previous meeting
     
  4. Date of the Next Meeting – May 17, 2022

    The Chair stated that the next meeting would be held on May 17, 2022, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
