Teresa Lobalsamo is Assistant Professor (Teaching Stream) and Undergraduate Coordinator of Italian Studies, in the Department of Language Studies, at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). Her research is on Italian cinema and on Teaching and Learning. Most recently, her scholarly activities have focused on creating, testing, and analyzing the results of effective teaching methodologies in large class sizes.

Dr. Lobalsamo is dedicated to enhancing students’ experiences by organizing undergraduate colloquia, supervising research projects and internships, leading co- and extra-curricular activities, forging strong alliances between the community and UTM. Dr. Lobalsamo and her upper year language students co-author an online Italian textbook, part of UTM’s Digital Initiatives.  Dr. Lobalsamo will begin her first term as Campus Council member, term ending on June 30, 2020.
