Professional Development Day

The University of Saskatchewan is pleased to host the Professional Development Day for Board Professionals book-ending the virtual CUBA-ACCAU 2021 conference! The professional development day will be held in a virtual format over two days, Friday, April 23 and Friday, May 28, 2021, from 11-2:30 pm EDT.  

USask will bring to all of you a rich and engaging virtual opportunity to learn and network with other Board Professionals.

theme - “Elevating processes to enhance Board success.” Topics will include:

April 23

  • Supporting and strengthening the Board-President relationship
  • Board orientations in a virtual world (e.g., clarifying roles and responsibilities; fiduciary duty; reinforcing the “NIFO” principle, especially in uncertain times like a pandemic!)

May 28

  • Board effectiveness (e.g., breadth and depth of board skills to enable adequate oversight, including aspects such as evaluations and assessments, skills matrix, dispute resolution, etc.)
  • Strategic planning for governance


The format for each session will be a keynote speaker followed by panel discussions and/or break-out sessions. The professional development days will be brought to you via Zoom.
