Warren Edgar

Warren Edgar graduated from the University of Toronto Mississauga with a BA in Political Science in 1987 and has been an active volunteer at UTM since 1989. Mr. Edgar was involved with fundraising campaigns for the Kaneff Centre and the Student Centre and participated in the UTM mentorship program for many years. He is the past President of the UTM Alumni Association and he sat on the UTM Campus Council, the Governing Council for Athletics and the UTM Boundless Campaign Cabinet. In 2008, Mr. Edgar was recognized for volunteer work as an alumnus by receiving UTM’s “Top 40 Alumni in 40 Years” award. He has also been honoured with a U of T Arbor Award. On May 30th of this year UTM recognized Mr. Edgar with the J. Tuzo Wilson Distinguished Alumni Award.

Mr. Edgar has been a financial advisor since graduating in 1987 and is currently the Branch Owner and Manager and Senior Financial Advisor with Assante Wealth Management in Mississauga.

Warren Edgar has been married for 32 years to Nancy Edgar who is the head of Talent Management for Bayer Canada. As the father of 3 active and athletic daughters—Alexandra (Western ’14), Tori (Western ’16, UTM MMI ’17) and Julia (Princeton 2021)— Warren coached competitive soccer with the Oakville Soccer Club for 10 years and coached and managed with the Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Club for 20 years. One of his greatest joys was watching two of his daughters represent and compete for Canada in hockey and in soccer.
