(1) Consultation on Position Specification and Role Profile

As of this week, we have concluded all of the meetings scheduled for this phase of the search. As well, the deadline for written submissions was December 7. I would like to thank all of you who have participated in these consultations, through meetings or through the provision of written comments. Your thoughts and perspectives have been very valuable to the Committee in increasing the understanding of our University’s strengths, the challenges it faces, and the characteristics that would be desirable for our next President to have. Now, we will be moving expeditiously to finalize the position specification.

(2) Next Steps

Finalizing the Position Specification and Calling for Candidate Nominations

Working with the input we have received, the Committee will be reviewing a draft position specification and role profile before the University closes for the holidays. It is our intention to finalize the document for publication in the first week of January. At that time, we will call for candidate nominations.

May I also take this opportunity to extend my warmest wishes for a joyous holiday season and a happy new year.
