Teaching Staff (FASE)

STARK DRAPER

I have 7 years of experience in governance at my toddler’s daycare and in the IEEE Information Theory Society as board secretary, chair of educational activities, and inaugural chair of diversity and inclusion. At UofT I chaired the FASE Admissions Committee (2016-18), serving on the Dean’s Executive Committee, and led the design of and chair the EngSci Machine Intelligence major. People who work with me in governance describe me as collaborative, open, creative, pragmatic, and reliable. I deeply respect the contributions of governance groups and wish to contribute to the long game of UofT -- ensuring impact, longevity, and relevance.

DAVID ZINGG

I am in my 33rd year as a professor at the Institute for Aerospace Studies. During this time, I served as Director of UTIAS for ten years, taught many classes, advised numerous students, and founded two centres. My contributions to UofT have been recognized by a Distinguished Professorship, the University of Toronto Faculty Award in 2009, and the J.J. Berry Smith Doctoral Supervision Award in 2016. In 2004, my research was recognized by a Guggenheim Fellowship. I would be delighted to bring to Governing Council both my experience and my philosophy that the University’s top priority is its students.
